Patient of the Month

Timothy Vorozheykin is our Patient of the Month this March! Timothy is a 10 month old male who was brought into the hospital over a month ago after falling eight stories. He suffered an abdominal hernia, pelvic fractures and lung contusions. After intensive oxygen therapy and rest he received the operation to repair his hernia and was sent home on pain medications and strict orders for crate rest. Today, Timothy is a typical cat; running, loving and being loved. We are proud to honor Timothy as our March Patient of the Month.

Pre-K School Tour

We are so happy that we were able to welcome a tour of Pre-K children to Hollywood Animal Hospital. The tour was today from 11:45am-12:45pm. Twenty Pre-K kids came from Creative Beginnings which is located directed behind our hospital in Hollywood.

Their teachers were Ms. Phoebe and Mr. Ronald. One of our owners, Dr. Sessa, gave the tour. He showed spoke to them about our bloodbank. He also educated them about surgery, our lab, Xray and exam rooms. They asked tons of questions and we converted a future Police Officer to become a Police Officer/ Vet. The kids all left with goodie bags prepared by our HR staff which included crayons, treats and an animal coloring book. All reports indicate that the kids and staff had a ball!

HAH Blood Donors

The HAH supports one of the few self supported blood banks for both cats and dogs in South Florida enabling us to provide exceptional critical care to our hospitalized  patients.

When these heroes come to us, they join the family of other donors in a well socialized and loving environment. These cats and dog supply our staff with not only a coveted blood supply but also a constant and abundant amount of love.  It is not uncommon to catch a staff member hunkered down in the cat room entertaining our loving cats or slipping one of our greyhounds a snack as they race around the break area.

These cherished team members give generously and we make every effort to make their time with us lively. When retirement comes we are committed to finding them the same kind of loving homes we have tried to provide. These loving and generous animals make great pets!

Contact Melanie C. or Meredith for more information about adopting these heroes! 954.920.3556

Poison Prevention Month

March is Poison Prevention Month! Did you know that some of the foods we eat every day can actually be toxic to our pets, such as avocado, macadamia nuts, and even grapes? We encourage you to invest in some delicious, pet-safe treats and avoid feeding any table scraps to your pet, in order to avoid accidental poisoning. Use precaution, and give your pet a long, healthy life.
