VCA HAH is currently looking for experienced full time Veterinary Technicians as well as a part time Pharmacy Technician. 

The skills that you will be utilizing as a Veterinary Technician include, but are not limited to: venipuncture, catheter placement, radiology, anesthesia monitoring, physical examinations and patient assessment, surgical preparation and assisting, dentistry, laboratory work, pharmacy, patient recovery, and compassionate care for our hospitalized patients.

 
The skills that you will be utilizing as a Pharmacy Technician include, but are not limited to:computer and internet skills, communication skills, attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.

FOOD DRIVE AT VCA HOLLYWOOD ANIMAL HOSPITAL RESULTS IN OVER 5500 POUNDS OF CAT AND DOG FOOD DONATIONS FOR BROWARD MEALS ON WHEELS FOR PETS

 VCA Hollywood Animal Hospital is pleased to announce that the success of our pet food drive for Broward Meals on Wheels for Pets (BMOW) was an overwhelming success. The South Florida community graciously donated over 3000 pounds of canned and dry food to our front doors. With the collections at our partnering collections sites at Pets Supplies Plusin Sheridan Plaza, Weston Animal Hospital and The Bed Post in Ft. Lauderdale the total number collected was 3600. With our hospital food match and the food match from Pet Supplies Plus, the 2016 total donation to Broward Meals on Wheels was over 5,500 pounds.

Broward Meals on Wheels for Pets delivers pet food once a month to homebound seniors who need assistance taking care of their in-home pets.  Pet food is provided through the generosity of community donations.

"The quantity of food used monthly by Broward Meals on Wheels for Pets is around 800 lbs alone for the southern portion of Broward County. This food collection will go a long way to help feed our client’s furry family members.", said Bobbi Arnold, Co- Chair of Broward Meals on Wheels for pets.

We all know our pets pretty well, but what we don’t always realize is that stress can make anybody do crazy things! When you have holiday guests or flashing Christmas lights or loud holiday music—or all of the above—at your house all at once, your pet may get stressed and frustrated, causing them to act out in unexpected ways. Most pet accidents are met with the statement, “He’s never done anything like that before!”

We recommend always making sure that your pet has a safe place to sit and relax during your holidays parties. Just like some people, pets need to get away from the action and de-stress, but most of the time they don’t know how to ask for their space. If your pet is comfortable in their crate, we recommend moving it into a quiet room and letting them spend some time resting during your holiday get-togethers. Your pet will be happier, and by extension, you and your guests will be happier! And holidays disasters will be prevented.

Donations of canned and dry food for cats & dogs made from November 14th- December 19th, 2015 will be deposited into BMOW for Pets’ food bank and portions will be matched by the VCAHAH*.

Broward Meals on Wheels for Companion Animals started when volunteers began to notice clients sharing their meals with their pets. Senior on a restricted budget can have a difficult time meeting their own needs and often the needs of their companion animals can be neglected. Today, the VCA HAH had the pleasure of joining the HollywoodAntiques & Collectible Club for their holiday luncheon and thank them personally for their efforts each year in support of our Broward Meals on Wheels for Pets Food Drive (BMOW). 

As a longtime client and friend to the HAH, Julia Sosnik extended this invitation to us and to members of Broward Meals on Wheels for Companion Animals team. We were grateful to be included and even more appreciative of this chance to highlight the efforts of these thoughtful  men and women who  facilitate their own food drive along side ours and donate hundreds of pounds of pet food each year.

Now in its fourth year, our staff looks forward to this food drive. We are consistently moved by the generosity of our community and organizations like Hollywood Antiques & Collectible Club as that have pick up the cause and facilitate drives of their own throughout Broward.
